You might remember reading one of our previous blogs where we covered off which states are the ‘hottest’ to start a home care business in the US. Well, Texas was on that list, and now we’re thrilled to introduce the Franchisees of Nurse Next Door Sugar Land, Texas – Anushka and Suneet Mago! Together, they’ll be bringing Happier Aging to the communities of Sugar Land, Missouri City, Central Houston, West Houston, North Houston, Richmond, Bellaire, Rosenberg and Stafford.
Let’s take a few minutes to get to know Anushka and Suneet!
Tell us a little about yourself
Anushka: I am a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas. My past work experience includes being an Assistant Director of Nursing at a reputable senior nursing facility in Houston, TX. I have over 8 years of experience in nursing, specializing in Geriatrics. I am a caring person that is focused on improving the quality of life and providing Happier Aging for all.
Suneet: I am a CPA, and I have been running my own firm for over 4 years. I have over 12 years of experience in accounting and taxation.
Why did you choose to start a Nurse Next Door franchise?
Anushka: My Grandfather was the reason I got into the nursing profession. He taught me the value and quality of life one should endure. I noticed that elderly care is more focused on the medical assistance side of care, rather than the holistic approach. I want to help make a change and provide the highest quality of care with a Happier Aging approach. The feeling you get after you put a smile on the face of someone is worth it all.
Suneet: I first-hand noticed the lack of care in our community. After not having the best experience of care with a family member, I noticed that care is heavily task based rather than taking a holistic approach. People just want to be heard, and providing care with a Happier Aging approach can truly make a change and impact a person in a good way.
Now that you’ve launched, tell us a little about your goals – what are you most excited about?
Anushka: Our goals are to be able to successfully provide each and every client with a Happier Aging experience, and to do it in a systematic and professional manner. We’re here to make a difference in people’s lives and that in itself is a blessing. We want to truly be able to make lives better, and set a good example for the home care industry.
Suneet: We want to make a positive impact in the lives of our clients and caregivers. As Anushka said, we want to truly be able to make a difference in our community and set the standard for home care in our community.
Last but not least, what does Happier Aging mean to you?
Anushka: Happier Aging means everything to me! In life, ‘quality’ should always be held to higher standards than ‘quantity.’ Happiness across the board puts everyone in a great position to overcome any day to day difficulties – this should be the primary focus.
Suneet: To me, Happier Aging means doing anything to possibly make one happy. It can be the smallest gesture, and it will still go a long way.
